The GlenDronach
has unveiled Batch 19 of its popular
Single Cask series, this year they are
offering GlenDronach fans a selection of 12 single
sherry cask bottling's with cask availability varying
by region.
The GlenDronach Distillery has
unveiled the next instalment in its
popular cask strength single cask
series, The GlenDronach
Single Cask Batch 19, which is a batch of 12
single cask whiskies ranging from 27 to
31 years old distilled between 1990 and
1994 all of which have been bottled at
cask strength with the ABV ranging from
50.7% to 57.8%.
Each cask in
batch 19 has been selected by
the GlenDronach's Master Blender Rachel
Barrie and fans of the Highland dram
which is renowned for its sherried style
will be pleased to hear that Rachel has
selected 12 sherry casks to bottle for
Batch 19.
Each bottle in Batch 19
was matured in either a single Pedro
Ximénez cask, Oloroso sherry Puncheon or
Oloroso sherry Butt, distilled between
1990 and 1994 so there are no youngsters
amongst this release. Whether previously
housed in sweet and rich Pedro Ximénez,
or dry and nutty Oloroso; each of the
twelve casks are said to present unique
characteristics whilst remaining
distinctively of The GlenDronach.

As you can imagine you will need
deep pockets to taste this batch of
mature sherried GlenDronach
drams, they have a RRP between
£545-£1,037, The GlenDronach
Distillery Visitor’s Centre will be
the only place in the world where
all twelve bottles will be available
to purchase by the bottle or by the
dram otherwise allocated casks as
listed above will be available to purchase from
specialist online whisky retailers
in their allocated regions. such as
The Whisky Exchange
and
The Whisky Shop
but I doubt they will be available
for long when they take stock of
them so don't hang around.
