Whisky Focus - Glenfiddich Fathers Day Gifting Collection

The Glenfiddich Fathers Day Gifting Collection

13th June 2014

Glenfiddich gift packs now available from supermarkets for Fathers Day.

With Fathers Day in only a couple of days time as usual for this time of year I have saw a huge increase in visitors to this site looking for whisky gift ideas and suggestions for a special single malt whisky to get their Dad.

There are a lot of whiskies to choose from these days on the shelves of your local supermarket, a single malt whisky is an affordable luxury gift and the ideal gift for Fathers Days but if you are not familiar with the vast range of single malts that Scotland has to offer you may be a bit overwhelmed with the selection you will find on the supermarket shelf.

One whisky brand that I have always had no hesitation in suggesting is Glenfiddich, the worlds number one selling single malt whisky, and just to make your gift just that little bit more extra special this year Glenfiddich have launched a range of gift packs for Father’s Day.

Look out for the Glenfiddich Prestige gift tins (shown in the image above), the gift tins showcase the Glenfiddich core range; 12 Year Old, 14 Year Old and 15 Year Old and the tins contain a gift tag for the bottle and a branded sticker which can be applied during gift wrapping.

Glenfiddich has also re-introduced the faux leather wrapped gift tins and you will find these available in major High Street supermarkets. The faux leather gift tins will be available from grocery retailers including Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons.

The Family Collection pack contains 3 X 5cl miniatures of the Glenfiddich core range; 12 Year Old, 14 Year Old and 15 Year Old, a fantastic gift that wont bust the bank with an RSP of only £14.69 and will give your Dad a chance to taste 3 premium malt whiskies.

Of course the gift packaging makes the gift feel a little bit more special but what about the whisky in the bottle. Well Glenfiddich is the worlds number one selling single malt whisky for a very good reason they produce a number of quality malt whiskies including the 3 whiskies I have mentioned here.

The Glenfiddich 12 year old was matured in American bourbon and Spanish sherry oak casks for at least 12 years then married together in oak marrying tuns for complete harmony of aroma and flavour. It has lovely fresh pear notes, creamy with subtle oak flavours and a lovely mellow finish.

The Glenfiddich Rich Oak 14 year old was matured for 14 years in fine Spanish oak and American Bourbon casks, then finished in selected virgin Spanish and American oak casks to release extra layers of aroma, flavour and spice into the whisky.
Rich vanilla sweetness which is followed up with zesty fruit flavours and some wood spice and a gentle nuttiness. The was the first virgin American and European oak finished whisky in the world.

The Glenfiddich 15 year old is aged in European, American, and New American oak to carefully release the virgin cask flavours, the whisky is then mellowed in Glenfiddichs unique Solera vat before being married in Portuguese oak tuns. The 15 year is bursting with flavour and the first 15 Year Old to enter the top ten best selling single malts in the world and once you’ve tried it, it’s easy to see why. Satisfyingly rich, silky smooth with rich dark fruits, honey, creamy vanilla fudge, marzipan, cinnamon and ginger.
