New CEO Takes The Reins At Glenmorangie & Ardbeg

Caspar MacRae comes to the helm of Glenmorangie and Ardbeg, as Thomas Moradpour assumes Dom Pérignon Presidency.

Thomas Moradpour, the President and CEO of The Glenmorangie Company, is stepping down after an extraordinary five-year tenure to assume the leadership role at the renowned champagne brand Dom Pérignon, which is also part of Glenmorangie's parent company LVMH. Taking over the position from July 3 will be Caspar MacRae, the current Global Marketing and Business Development Director.

During Thomas Moradpour's time at the helm of The Glenmorangie Company, the owner of Glenmorangie Highland single malt Scotch whisky and Ardbeg Islay single malt Scotch whisky, has experienced remarkable success. Since joining the company in 2018, profits have more than doubled, and the company has achieved unprecedented year-on-year growth. Despite global uncertainties, Thomas has strengthened and made the business more sustainable by promoting innovation and successfully implementing ambitious expansion strategies. Ably supported by Caspar and the executive team he Thomas Moradpour has:

  • Launched Glenmorangie’s ground-breaking innovation Distillery;
     
  • Overseen the expansion of Ardbeg Distillery;
     
  • Doubled the Company’s bottling capacity;
     
  • Transformed Glenmorangie’s boutique hotel and purchased a hotel near Ardbeg;
     
  • Established the Company’s prestige strategy, including the record-breaking £16million sale of Ardbeg Cask No. 3
     
  • Set the Company on course to become one of the best places to work in the UK, with a raft of life-friendly policies and a culture which fosters creativity and innovation.

Caspar, who has closely collaborated with Thomas, is dedicated to upholding the Company's progressive journey, aligning with its long-term growth vision. Boasting 20 years of industry expertise, Caspar has already been a key contributor to the Company's accomplishments. As the leader of its marketing and commercial teams since 2018, he has spearheaded the evolution of the Glenmorangie and Ardbeg brands, resulting in acclaimed campaigns for both whiskies. Moreover, he has significantly propelled the e-commerce business, which has experienced a remarkable seven-fold expansion since 2020.
