A new Glenmorangie
Lasanta 15 Year Old expression is set to
replace the outstanding Lasanta 12 Year
Old we are familiar with, what will the
additional 3 years maturation bring,
find out in April when it is set to hit
the shelves.
 Glenmorangie Highland single malt Scotch
whisky has announced that their
outstanding Glenmorangie Lasanta 12 Year
Old, one of the Distillery’s most
popular whiskies and for a good reason,
will now be bottled as a 15 Year Old
expression.
The new Glenmorangie Lasanta 15 Year Old
is said to bring even greater elegance
to its signature rich spice and luscious
sweetness that we are already familiar
with in the 12 Year Old expression it
replaces. Aged in a refined combination
of bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, the
extended maturation enhances its depth,
complexity, and finesse.
Led by Dr. Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie’s
whisky creators are known for their
imaginative approach, crafting delicate,
fruity spirits in towering stills as
tall as a giraffe. Inspired by the
warmth of a sunset, the distillery tells
me that The Lasanta embodies mellow,
sun-drenched flavours that captivate
with every sip.
While the original Lasanta was already a
global favourite, Dr. Bill and Master
Blender Gillian Macdonald saw an
opportunity to elevate it further. By
extending the aging process and refining
the cask selection, they’ve created The
Lasanta 15 Years Old— which they say is
still an exquisite whisky with layers of
raisin, honey, toffee, clove, and
cinnamon, delivering a beautifully
balanced and luxurious experience but
with the benefit of 3 more years
maturation.
Dr Bill said: "With its rich spice and
luscious sweetness, Glenmorangie Lasanta
is a whisky that elicits the radiant
wonder of sunset and has been a
favourite of Glenmorangie fans for some
time. Now aged for 15 years in an
enhanced selection of bourbon and
Oloroso sherry casks, we’ve introduced
even more complex and elegant notes to
this whisky, all working together in
delicious balance."
As I am sure those of you who are
familiar with the Highland distillery
will already know, Glenmorangie’s whisky
creators were pioneers of wood finishing
nearly 40 years ago, mastering the
technique to enhance their whiskies with
rich layers of flavour. Alongside the
newly elevated Glenmorangie Lasanta, the
distillery’s core range also features
the port cask-finished Quinta Ruban and
the dessert wine-cask finished Nectar,
each showcasing their expertise in cask
maturation.
Glenmorangie Lasanta 15 Years Old will
be available for purchase in the UK from
April onwards and you will find it available from specialist online whisky

Tasting Notes:
Nose: Rich,
aromatic, spicy and deep, with notes of
mead, honeycomb, walnut and a touch of
charcoal. A splash of water opens up the
powerful bouquet, revealing some more
floral and fruity top notes, like
carnation, flowering currants,
chocolate-coated raisins, baking bread
and toffee.
Taste: A
sizzling, spicy mouthfeel leads into a
burst of rich flavours such as Brazil
nuts in toffee, molasses, charcoal,
cinnamon and clove, with a background of
leather, oak tannins and dark chocolate.
Finish: Long
and lingering, with hints of Seville
orange marmalade, dates and treacle.
