Glen Scotia
introduces a new 12 Year Old single
malt, showcasing the distillery’s bold
Campbeltown character.
Campbeltown distillery Glen Scotia has
unveiled a new 12 Year Old single malt,
which is said to place its signature
style and maritime influence firmly in
the spotlight.
Hailing from Scotland’s smallest
whisky-producing region, the new
flagship Glen Scotia 12 Year Old is a
confident yet classic addition to the
distillery’s core range. It is said to
showcase the rich, coastal character for
which Glen Scotia is famed, it joins an
esteemed line-up that includes the 10,
15, 18 and 25-year-old expressions.
Once celebrated as the Victorian whisky
capital of the world, Campbeltown has
enjoyed a spirited revival in recent
years – with Glen Scotia’s enduring
presence central to its resurgence.
Matured entirely in first-fill bourbon
casks under the watchful care of Glen
Scotia’s small, dedicated team, the 12
Year Old captures the distillery’s bold
Campbeltown character in its purest
form.
Meticulous attention to every detail of
production has created a single malt
which is said to be brimming with tropical fruit notes,
seamlessly balanced by Glen Scotia’s
signature maritime influence. The whisky
is said to open with aromas of fresh sea
air, honeyed vanilla and exotic tropical
fruits. On the palate, layers of
caramelised sugar, tangy citrus and
vibrant pineapple unfold, complemented
by delicate toasted oak and a lingering,
warming finish.
Presented in striking royal blue and
chalk white packaging, the design draws
inspiration from the distillery’s iconic
blue dunnage warehouse door and exterior
wall. This distinctive new colour scheme
debuts alongside Glen Scotia’s refreshed
brand identity, which will be rolled out
across all communications – a
celebration of the distillery’s bold,
resilient spirit and pride in its
small-town heritage.
Iain McAlister, Master Distiller and
Distillery Manager, of Glen Scotia said:
"The Glen Scotia 12 Year Old is a bold
new classic that will become the heart
of our core range, representing our
signature style and offering whisky
lovers a true taste of Campbeltown.
"Campbeltown is the smallest
whisky-producing region, where our small
team use uniquely small stills to craft
our whiskies with big Campbeltown
flavours that have made big waves across
the world. The new 12 Year Old is
quintessentially Glen Scotia – from the
royal blue and chalk white packaging
referencing our dunnage door and
exterior wall, to the bold Campbeltown
character within, bursting with tropical
fruit flavours that are perfectly
balanced with our maritime influence."
Glen Scotia 12 Year Old is bottled
at 46% ABV, natural in colour and
non-chill filtered, it has a RRP of £45
and you will find it available from specialist online whisky
