Glen Scotia
brings Campbeltown whisky folklore to
Luss Distillery his Halloween.

Campbeltown whisky distillery Glen
Scotia is bringing Scotland's smallest
whisky-producing region's spooky
folklore to Luss Distillery this
Halloween, with a special two-day
takeover on Saturday 31 October and
Sunday 1 November 2026.
The event will give whisky enthusiasts
the opportunity to explore Glen Scotia's
award-winning single malts through two
exclusive tasting experiences. One
focuses on the limited-edition Icons of
Campbeltown series, inspired by the
mythical creatures carved into
Campbeltown's historic 14th-century
market cross, while the other showcases
the distillery’s core range and
distinctive Campbeltown character.
Discover the Legends Behind Glen
Scotia's Icons of Campbeltown
The Icons of Campbeltown tasting invites
guests to discover the stories and
folklore behind Glen Scotia's
limited-edition collection, which
celebrates the mythical beasts and
legendary figures associated with the
historic whisky town.
Situated in the centre of Campbeltown,
the town’s medieval market cross has
long been a source of local myth and
legend. Its intricate 14th-century
carvings have inspired Glen Scotia’s
annual Icons releases, with mythical
creatures including the Dragon, the
Wulver and, most recently, the Griffin
featured throughout the series.
Release No.4, inspired by the Griffin,
continues the collection's exploration
of Campbeltown’s rich history and
folklore, bringing these legendary
creatures to life through a series of
distinctive single malt Scotch whiskies.
The Halloween tasting will explore the
inspiration behind the collection,
offering whisky fans an opportunity to
learn more about the stories that have
shaped the series while sampling a
selection of its releases.
Ashley Smith, Master Blender at Glen
Scotia, said: "Campbeltown has a wealth
of folklore and a rich history to draw
on, which inspired the creative concept
for the Icons of Campbeltown series.
These tales give us a platform to tell
the distillery’s story through this
limited-edition collection, which are
paired with our world-class whiskies for
each release. Halloween weekend is the
perfect time of year to experience the
Icons of Campbeltown series and delve
into the legends and bold character of
Campbeltown."
Explore Glen Scotia’s Signature
Campbeltown Single Malts
For those looking to discover the
distillery’s established style, the
second tasting offers an introduction to
three expressions from the Glen Scotia
core range.
The experience begins with Glen Scotia
Double Cask Sherry Finish, an
approachable introduction to the
distillery's character, before moving on
to Glen Scotia 12 Year Old, which
showcases the signature style of this
historic Campbeltown single malt
producer.
The tasting concludes with Glen Scotia
Victoriana, a contemporary
interpretation of traditional
Victorian-style whisky that pays tribute
to Campbeltown's past as one of the
world’s great whisky-producing centres
during the Victorian era.
The core range experience is suited to
newcomers discovering Glen Scotia for
the first time, as well as established
fans wanting to explore the distillery’s
distinctive approach to single malt
Scotch whisky.
Glen Scotia Returns to Luss Distillery
for Halloween Weekend
The takeover follows the success of Glen
Scotia's Mini Campbeltown Malts Festival
at Luss Distillery earlier this year.
Located on the banks of Loch Lomond,
Luss Distillery is a state-of-the-art
spirits destination operated by Loch
Lomond Group, which also owns Glen
Scotia, Loch Lomond Whiskies and Ben
Lomond Gin.
Tony MacLean, Brand Home Manager at Luss
Distillery, said: "After the success of
the Glen Scotia Mini Campbeltown Malts
Festival earlier this year, we couldn’t
wait to welcome Glen Scotia back for
Halloween weekend. Our expert team knows
Glen Scotia inside out, so whether
you’re a devoted fan of its limited
editions or are trying the renowned
Campbeltown distillery’s whiskies for
the first time, both experiences offer a
chance to learn about Glen Scotia’s
incredible, award-winning drams."
The Halloween takeover offers whisky
lovers an opportunity to experience Glen
Scotia’s heritage, folklore and
distinctive single malts without
travelling to Campbeltown itself, with
Luss Distillery located approximately an
hour from Glasgow.
