Loch Lomond
set to add a peaty Inchmoan 10 Year Old
expression to its travel retail line up.
The
Loch Lomond distillery have unveiled the
Loch Lomond Inchmoan 10 Year Old,
a new peated single malt whisky from the
distillery's Island Collection of single
malts which will be exclusive to global
travel retail.
The new Inchmoan 10 Year Old whisky
which will officially be launched at the
2017 TFWA World Exhibition and
Conference in Cannes next month will
join the Loch Lomond distillery's travel
retail line up and will be available
from travel retail outlets from early
2018.
Presented in a 1 litre bottle with a RRP
of £42 the peaty malt is sure to be
another interesting choice for
travellers from the Loch Lomond travel
retail range which has gone from
strength to strength since it was first
launched at Glasgow Airport in February
this year where it quickly became the
top-selling Scotch whisky brand.
So why exactly has the Loch Lomond
distillery's travel retail range become
so popular, so quickly with travellers?
I would say there are a few simple
reasons for this, firstly Loch Lomond
have put a lot of effort into promoting
their whisky range at airports via
tastings where their knowledgeable
whisky ambassadors who have been on-hand
to introduce their range to travellers.
Also they present their range in 1 litre
bottles which is sadly becoming a rarity
amongst some big whisky brands in travel
retail these days and they present their
range in attractive packaging which always
makes a difference to the gift buyer and
to a lesser extent those buying for
themselves, and of course the quality
and price. All of this combined has
earned Loch Lomond a substantial share
of the travel retail whisky market.
The new Loch Lomond Inchmoan 10 Year Old
will join the Loch Lomond Signature Blended
Whisky, Loch Lomond Single Grain, Loch Lomond 12 Year Old
Single Malt and Loch Lomond Inchmurrin Madeira Cask
Single Malt in early 2018.
I have been told that during the 2017 TFWA
World Exhibition and Conference where
the new Inchmoan 10 will be launching,
the Loch Lomond Group, which also owns,
Glen Scotia and Littlemill Scotch whisky
brands, will also be announcing details
of a new ultra-premium expression which
will be its oldest-ever release, so
watch this space!
Both the Glen Scotia and Loch Lomond
travel retail Scotch whisky ranges have
been rolled out to the Nordic region and
continue to gain space on shelves in
travel retail shops throughout Europe,
the Americas, Asia and the Middle East
so if you haven't come across the Loch
Lomond whiskies at an airport near you I
wouldn't be surprised if you do in the
near future.
If you have no plans to travel in the
near future you will find the current Loch
Lomond domestic whisky range including the recently released
Inchmoan 12 Year Old and
Inchmoan
Vintage 1992 available from specialist online whisky shops such as
Master of Malt
