Jackton
Distillery Named Finalist in three
categories at the Scottish Whisky Awards
2025.

Independent and family-owned Jackton
Distillery, located just outside
Glasgow, has been shortlisted for three
major honours at this year’s Scottish
Whisky Awards, cementing its place among
the country’s most exciting
whisky-makers.
The distillery is a finalist in:
- Best Blended
Scotch – for both its Amontillado
and Oloroso expressions
- Tourism
Destination of the Year
- Distillery
of the Year
These nominations
put Jackton Distillery in direct
competition with some of the most
established names in the industry,
including Isle of Harris Distillers
(2024’s Distillery of the Year),
Lochranza Distillery, and Rosebank
Distillery.
"When we won back-to-back gold in 2022
and 2023 in the Best Blended Scotch
category, it was a complete game-changer
for us," said Jaynie Kean, Managing
Director at Jackton Distillery. "It was
totally unexpected in a way, but once
news started circulating, the Oloroso
expression sold out overnight. For a
family-owned business of our size, it
was a glimmer of recognition, and we are
hungry for more. We hope that being
nominated in three categories, including
'Distillery of the Year', will continue
to help put our story out into the
world."
Adding to the recognition, Kean has also
been named one of three finalists for
The Young Achiever of the Year at the
upcoming Spirits Business Awards in
London this November.
From its beginnings as a family farm,
Jackton Distillery has quickly grown
into a rising force in Scotland’s whisky
and tourism scene. A popular visitor
destination, it offers immersive tours,
tastings, and an annual programme of
events connecting visitors to the craft
of whisky-making. This year, the
distillery took part in the Glasgow
Doors Open Days Festival, giving the
public their first glimpse of its onsite
drum malting plant.
Jackton laid down its first single malt
Scotch casks in 2020, with its eagerly
awaited inaugural release planned for
2026. While details remain under wraps,
whisky fans can expect further updates
as the launch approaches, so watch this
