Kilchoman
announce the release of the 2024 edition
of their heavily peated Oloroso sherry
butt matured Kilchoman Loch Gorm single
malt whisky.

Its that time of
year once again, Kilchoman today
announced the release of the next
instalment of their
exclusively sherry matured limited
edition annual release, Kilchoman Loch
Gorm 2024.
Kilchoman Loch Gorm 2024 like previous
expressions
boasts a rich heritage, it
was distilled
in 2014 and the heavily peated 50ppm
spirit was then laid down to age in 23
Oloroso sherry butts which formerly
housed spirits from Bodega José y Miguel
Martín. With a majority of fresh casks
blended in, the whisky is said to have
inherited intricate layers of Oloroso
character from the sherry-infused wood.
The whisky takes its name from the
iconic dark and peaty loch adjacent to
the distillery, Kilchoman's Loch Gorm
limited edition stands out as their sole
regular expression wholly matured in
Oloroso sherry casks and it has proved
to be very popular with with fans of
peaty sherried whiskies and with good
reason, all releases to date have been
quite outstanding expressions of this
style of whisky.
Commenting on the Loch Gorm 2024 release
Anthony Wills, Kilchoman Founder, said:
"Loch Gorm has often been our most
sought after limited edition and I don’t
see that changing in 2024. Distilled in
2014, these sherry butts have given this
year’s release an abundance of rich
spices and toffee notes. A great example
of peat and sherry working in harmony
together."
Kilchoman Loch Gorm 2023 is bottled at
46% ABV, non chill-filtered and
naturally coloured and it will be (while
stocks last) available from specialist online whisky
shops such as
The Whisky Exchange
and
Master of Malt
