expression from the Islay distillery
which will be available exclusively from
Amazon
Fully matured in American ex-Bourbon
barrels and bottled at 48% ABV the
Laphroaig 16 year old is a limited
release of 11,500 which will be
available from Amazon across Europe as
well as some selected stores in the US.
The travellers amongst you will know
that this isn't the first Laphroaig 16
year old expression we have had in
recent years from the Islay distillery
you may recall a travel retail
expression back in 2015 which was
released during the Laphroaig 200 years
anniversary celebrations but this only
came in a half bottle size of 35cl and
was bottled a 43% ABV, whereas as I said
the new Amazon exclusive 16 year old has
been bottled at what I would assume will
be the more flavoursome 48% ABV.
The new Laphroaig 16 Year Old expression
is described as having a nose of roasted
chestnuts with rich maple syrup and a
touch of black pepper and on the palate
- sweet with treacle and caramel
followed by a long lasting, smoky, sweet
finish.
The new Laphroaig 16 Year Old will
be released on the September 10th priced £89
for a 70cl bottle and is now currently available to
pre-ordered exclusively from
Amazon
