Whisky adds a premium selection to their
single cask Munros Collection which
launches with a Macallan 30 Year Old
1989 presented in a bespoke Glencairn
Crystal decanter.
 Independent bottler 'Glasgow Whisky'
which has been bottling Scotch single
malt and blended whisky since 2007 has
unveiled a new premium addition to their Munros
Collection of cask strength single malt
whiskies, a single cask Macallan 30 Year
Old 1989 Vintage.
The Munros Collection Macallan 30 Year
Old was distilled on the 26th January
1989, then matured in a single sherry
cask for 30 years before being bottled
on the 27th March 2020 at its natural
strength which is now 49.1% ABV. The
single cask produced only 131 70cl
bottles.
The new limited edition Macallan 30 Year
Old single cask, single malt is the
first release in a new premium range to be added
to The Munros Collection and Glasgow
Whisky has teamed up with Glencairn
Crystal to present the new premium end
of the collection in a bespoke decanter
which has been handcrafted by the
Scottish family owned, award-winning
Glencairn Crystal Studio. Produced from
the highest quality lead free crystal,
it features a beautiful double-sided
engraving, on the back is a stunning
Scottish mountain range, which is
magnified through the whisky to the
front of the decanter. The intricate
engravings are infilled with white and
copper and the Munros mountain theme is
continued on the copper stopper.
Regarding the whisky which you will find
in the decanter, there has been no water
added, it has been bottled at its
natural cask strength, it is naturally
coloured and I am told that the spirit
has received minimal filtration in order
to retain the maximum fullness of
character, aroma and flavour. The
darkness of colour is solely from the
influence of the sherry wood cask in
which it has been matured. Glasgow
Whisky describe it as having an
enveloping heady mix of spiciness and
warm aromatics.
