Douglas Laing
& Co. unveils the next chapter in its
Old Particular Wine Cask Collection.
Douglas Laing & Co. continues its
acclaimed Old Particular Wine Cask
Collection with the release of two
Single Cask expressions: a
Old Particular Jura 13 Year Old and a
Fettercairn 14 Year Old. Each whisky has
been uniquely finished in hand-selected
wine casks, carefully chosen to amplify
their distinctive character.
Following the success of last year's Red
Wine Cask Collection, this new release
further explores the delicate interplay
between fine Scotch Whisky and premium
wine cask maturation.
Douglas Laing Managing Director Cara
Laing reflects: "The art of whisky
finishing is about complementing and
elevating the spirit without
overpowering its inherent charm. Our Old
Particular Wine Cask Collection
exemplifies this philosophy, offering
whisky lovers a new dimension of
flavour, complexity, and depth."
The first two releases in this
four-bottle series feature carefully
matured Single Cask selections, each
enriched by the influence of world-class
wine casks:
- Old
Particular Jura 13 Year Old –
Finished in a Ruby Port Wine Cask,
this Island Single Malt unveils rich
aromas of ripe plums and cherries,
leading to a palate of raspberry
conserve, gentle spices, and smooth
honeyed malt. The long, layered
finish reveals stewed strawberries,
floral undertones, and luxurious
cocoa.
- Old
Particular Fettercairn 14 Year Old –
Matured in a Red Pineau des
Charentes Wine Cask, this Highland
expression opens with malt and
Highland honey on the nose, followed
by notes of blackcurrant and fig.
The palate offers indulgent layers
of juicy cherries, creamy cocoa, and
spiced oak, with a lingering finish
of caramelised sweetness, dried
prunes, and refined red fruits.
Both expressions
are bottled at 48.4% ABV, non-chill
filtered, and free from added colouring
— preserving the whisky's natural
character in its most authentic form.
There are just 264 bottles of the Jura
13 Year Old and 222 of the Fettercairn
14 Year Old available and you will find
them available from specialist online whisky
shops such as
The Whisky Exchange
and
