Old Pulteney
release last UK stock of the classic Old
Pulteney 21 year old alongside the Old
Pulteney 1989 Vintage.
Old Pulteney today announced that
they have paired together two of its
highly rated single malt whiskies in a
twin pack, the two whiskies are the
outstanding Old Pulteney 21 Year old and
the Old Pulteney 1989 Vintage.
I am sure those of you who have been
lucky enough to have had the pleasure of
these two whiskies will agree they make
a hard to resist pairing. As the
Pulteney fans amongst you will know, the
Old Pulteney 21 year old which quickly
became highly sought after being named
World Whisky of the Year in 2012 by Jim
Murray’s Whisky Bible was replaced late
last year by the new Old Pulteney 25
year old and this pairing of the 21 with
the 1989 Vintage contains the last
available UK stock of the Old Pulteney
21 which I am sure will be an attraction
by itself for both whisky drinkers and
collectors.
Both of these expressions encompass the
maritime malt’s famed power and subtlety
of the sea with the Old Pulteney 1989
being a limited edition lightly peated
single malt whisky which the distillery
describe as "peaty to start on the
palate with a heavy, spicy underpinning.
With notes of vanilla, coconut and
oranges this indulgent single malt has a
long-lasting finish".
The limited release
comprises of just 276 packs worldwide, all
of which will be individually numbered
and accompanied by a hand signed
certificate from Old Pulteney’s
Distillery Manager Malcolm Waring.
Packaged in a premium case and exclusive
to the UK, the limited release two
bottle pack will be priced around £600
and will be available from specialist online whisky
retailers such as The Whisky Exchange
