bottling of their limited edition
Scallywag 'The Chocolate Edition'
Speyside
blended malt.
 Just
in time for Easter, the Glasgow-based
distiller, blender, and bottler, Douglas
Laing, has unveiled their latest annual
bottling of their limited edition
Scallywag 'The Chocolate Edition' Scotch
blended malt. This release marks the
seventh addition to the series, and this
years release promises a departure from
the Feisty Fox Terrier Chocolate Edition
of previous years.
Crafted with meticulous attention and
passion, this newest expression of
Scallywag Speyside Blended Malt Scotch
Whisky undergoes a full Sherry cask
maturation followed by an extended
finishing period in Port casks. They
tell me that his unique fusion has
resulted in a sumptuous and indulgent
flavour profile, distinguishing it as a
truly exceptional offering. Their
tasting notes tantalisingly describe
"layers upon layers of brown sugar,
juicy forest fruits, decadent dark
chocolate, and a comforting warmth of
baking spices."
Both the black bottle and bespoke paper
wrap are a debut for the Scallywag
brand. This intentional aesthetic was
chosen to capture the essence of a
classic Port bottling while retaining
Scallywag's core brand attributes.
As part of the Chocolate Series, Douglas
Laing is celebrating the release with an
enticing Golden Ticket competition.
Consumers across the UK, Germany, and
the Netherlands have the chance to win
prizes by discovering a Golden Ticket or
the coveted Scallywag Golden Bone (the
star prize) concealed within the
packaging.
Scott Morrison, Brand Manager commented,
"Being the seventh Scallywag Chocolate
Edition we wanted to bring something
different to consumers, something new
and exciting that’ll get the tastebuds
tingling. The Port cask finish is not
something we’ve explored before with our
Speyside Malt but made perfect sense for
this new expression with its classic
characteristics. The consumer
competition, inspired by the iconic
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory film,
adds an interesting dimension to the
release and keeps things fresh –

This latest Scallywag
The Chocolate Edition has been bottled
at 48% ABV with no colouring or
chill-filtration and is expected to retail at £60.00
and will be available from specialist online whisky shops such
