The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS)
has unveiled ‘Whispers of Spring: A
Journey of Reawakening’ (£1,144), the
third chapter in its highly praised
Creators Collection. This new release
features four aged single malts,
carefully matured to capture the essence
of spring with delicate notes of citrus,
vanilla, and fresh florals.
Exclusively available to The SMWS
members from late April, the set
includes rare whiskies aged between 27
and 35 years, all matured in refill
casks to allow the true character of
each distillery to shine through—subtly
influenced by oak, never overpowered.
The Creators Collection is a limited
series from the global whisky club,
designed to turn storytelling into a
tasting experience. Each release
explores a different flavour journey,
cask type, or production technique, with
more captivating editions to follow
later this year.
SMWS head of whisky creation Euan
Campbell said: "Sometimes it's fun to
explore the technical and process side
of whisky, and sometimes it's best to
let the whisky take you to a time and
place and simply revel in sheer
enjoyment. Our Whispers of Spring
bottles do just that."

ultra small-batch whisky at 53.4%

with low volumes, the spirit was
vatted and consolidated into five
barrels for extended maturation.

Crepuscular Complexity (£375) -
Distilled at Tormore distillery,
this is rarest of the collection
with only 122 bottles available,
this 35 Year Old whisky is 46.2%
ABV. The Sweet, Fruity & Mellow dram
is said to offer notes of "old
Riesling, calvados, peaches and
cream" with "spiced oranges in
syrup" on the palate.
‘Whispers of Spring’ marks the latest
chapter in the Creators Collection, a
series that began in November 2024 with
‘Peat Plants: The Essence of Scotland’s
Untamed Landscapes’. That inaugural
release featured four distinctive
bottling's showcasing the diverse
character of Scotland’s peatlands—from
the smoky shores of Islay to the rugged
terrains of Aberdeenshire and the
windswept Orkney Islands.
The journey continued in January with
‘Homecoming: The Essence of Heritage
with Shona Hardie’, a heartfelt tribute
to the Society’s spiritual home at The
Vaults in Leith.
