Spearhead
sets its sights on expansion while the
Loch Lomond Group reintegrates the
distribution of its pioneering
single-grain whisky into its portfolio
in the UK.
In
whisky business news, Spearhead whisky
brand, a part of the Loch Lomond Group,
is set to ramp up its growth strategy
for this innovative dram.
Under this plan, Loch Lomond Group will
separate from its UK distributor,
Mangrove, and internalise distribution
operations, aiming to concentrate on
expanding the brand's reach.
Introduced in 2021, Spearhead stands as
a distinctive single-grain scotch whisky
meticulously fashioned from 100% malted
barley. This exceptional spirit
undergoes an extensive fermentation
process lasting 92 hours, followed by
distillation in a continuous Coffey
style still.
After maturing in ex-bourbon barrels,
Spearhead concludes its aging journey in
a fusion of fire and infra-red toasted
American oak barrels, resulting in a
lighter whisky replete with a diverse
spectrum of sumptuous, sweet notes.
Presently available in 26 global
markets, Spearhead has secured a place
in prominent UK establishments like TT
Liquor, Callooh Callay, Nauticus,
Silverleaf, Gungho!, Tom Thumb, and
Smithfield Social.
Loch Lomond Group's shift to internal
distribution comes after a string of
triumphant UK trade events held in
collaboration with Mangrove over the
past 18 months. These events include the
Passing Fancies Industry Night in
Birmingham, a noteworthy bar takeover at
Bread & Jam in Bath, and the engaging
Alternative Burns Night featuring artist
LVRA at The Lower Third in London.
John Grieveson, Chief Marketing
Officer at Loch Lomond Group, said:
“Spearhead is a community spirit that
brings like-minded people together.
This, alongside our unique proposition
as a single-grain whisky, has seen
demand for the brand grow, and our focus
now is on continuing to expand our
customer base across the world. We thank
Mangrove for all their support in
helping us to establish the brand.”
Spearhead single grain whisky is
presented in a striking Bourbon-style
bottle, it has been bottled at
43% ABV and has a RRP of £30 and is
available from specialist online whisky retailers
such as
The Whisky Exchange and
Master of Malt
