Tamdhu celebrates an award winning year after picking up 14 prestigious awards from renowned spirits competitions.

Tamdhu Single Malt Scotch Whisky has achieved remarkable success in 2023, receiving a total of fourteen prestigious awards from renowned spirits competitions.

The sherry-matured single malt garnered significant recognition at the annual Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival in Scotland's North East, securing three awards. Distillery manager Sandy McIntyre was honoured with the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival Ambassador Award for his invaluable support and promotion of the festival.

Furthermore, Tamdhu 12 Year Old was crowned as the "Best Whisky" in the 12 and under category, while the 18 Year Old triumphed as the "Best Whisky" in the 13-20 Year Old category, showcasing the esteemed reputation of this sherry-matured single malt among its peers in Speyside.

In addition to its domestic success, Tamdhu's latest addition to its core range, the 18 Year Old, has achieved remarkable acclaim internationally. This exquisite dram was bestowed with a Double Gold medal at the esteemed San Francisco Wine and Spirits Competition, reaffirming its exceptional quality on a global scale. Furthermore, Tamdhu Batch Strength 007 was honoured with a Gold medal at the same competition.

Recently, Tamdhu continued its winning streak by securing three gold awards at the highly respected International Spirits Challenge, an event that exclusively celebrates the finest spirits. The 12 Year Old, 18 Year Old, and Distinction II expressions were all chosen by the judges, resulting in an exceptional triple gold victory.

Moreover, Tamdhu 12 Year Old garnered another gold award at the esteemed International Wine & Spirit Competition, further contributing to the brand's impressive tally of fourteen awards thus far in the year.

If you are not familiar with Tamdhu single malt whisky you may be interested to know that Tamdhu exclusively matures in sherry seasoned casks, which are crafted in the family cooperages and bodegas of Jerez, Spain for up to 6 years before beginning their journey to Scotland.

The distillery is owned by family firm, Ian Macleod Distillers, it uses only Oloroso sherry seasoned American and European oak casks and it is thse casks which gives the award-winning single malt its natural, dark amber colour, intense richness on the palate.
