Tamdhu
releases the next instalment of their
Cask Strength series, Tamdhu Batch
Strength 6, and it is an absolutely
delicious big Oloroso sherried dram.
Tamdhu
Batch Strength 6 in the latest
instalment in Tamdhu's big sherried cask
strength series.
Tamdhu is the only single malt Scotch
whisky to exclusively mature all its
whisky in the Oloroso sherry seasoned
casks from start to finish and this
sixth batch of their cask strength
series is no different, with a high
proportion of the contributing casks in
this release being First-Fill Oloroso
sherry casks, this in conjunction with
the bottling strength is sure to make
for a sherry rich dram.
Sandy McIntyre, Tamdhu Distillery
Manager, commented: "The Batch Strength
series is one of our most popular
releases – and Batch Strength No.006 is
sure to appeal to our fans old and new.
The high proportion of first-fill
Oloroso sherry casks give this whisky a
rich, complex taste and long, rewarding
finish."
Tamdhu Batch Strength 6 follows in the
footsteps of a series that’s no stranger
to success, Batch Strength No. 005 won
‘Gold’ at The Spirits Business Luxury
Masters in 2020. Its well-decorated
predecessor, Batch No. 004, scooped a
‘Gold’ award in the Scotch Speyside, No
Age Statement category at the World
Whiskies Awards in 2020, a ‘Gold’ at The
Scotch Whisky Masters and a ‘Double
Gold’ at the San Francisco World Spirits
Competition.
Tamdhu Batch Strength No. 006 has been
bottled at its natural cask strength of
56.8% ABV and has a RRP of £79.99 and you
will find it available from specialist
online whisky retailers such as

William
Morrison's Tasting Notes:
Nose:
A deliciously rich mix of vanilla,
honey, sherry soaked sultana and
raisin fruitcake with some orange and
lemon adding to the fruitiness, a hint
of toasted almond, a little ginger and
some mild spicy treacle toffee.
Taste:
A rich sweet sherried fruit delivery, the
delicious sherried fruit - raisins, sultanas and cherries are
joined by some plum, a touch of mildly
zesty orange, a little nuttiness, a
touch of vanilla and behind the
fruitiness is a lovely honey, cinnamon and
oak spice.
Finish:
A long finish with the burnt
raisins and sultanas hanging in there
for an age, some cinnamon and ginger
hangs in there too, some lingering
treacle toffee and mildly drying oak at
the end.
Comment:
An absolutely delicious big Oloroso
sherried dram, a pleasure from nose to
finish, some quality sherry casks at
play here and the cask strength simply
adds to the flavour and pleasure
experience. Tamdhu is becoming one to
watch for fans of a big sherried dram
going by the quality of this, highly
recommended.
