A rather
appropriate release to mark 'Burns
Night', a Timorous Beastie 20 Year Old
Highland Blend Malt.
 Rather
appropriately as it is Buns Night
tonight Douglas Laing has released a
Timorous Beastie 20 Year Old expression;
a small batch, limited edition from
their Highland Blended Malt brand, this
20 year old expression has been released
exclusively for the UK market.
The Timorous Beastie 20 Year Old
expression was matured exclusively in
ex-American Bourbon barrels and has been
bottled non chill-filtered and naturally
coloured at 42.7% ABV, a limited release
of only 297 bottles.
Presented in a clear bottle, showcasing
the naturally amber spirit colour, and
presented within a premium black gift
box with white foil detail, the
packaging is said to have been designed
to represent the "whisky of contrasts"
within.
With tasting notes including "toasted
marshmallow" and "spicy cinnamon", the
team behind Timorous Beastie 20 Years
Old say that "this small batch, limited
edition bottling is a harmonious
marriage of bold, contrasting spicy and
sweet flavours".
Cara Laing, Director of Marketing in her
family business, said: "We named the
original Timorous Beastie in honour of
Robert Burns’ famous Scots poem, ‘To a
Mouse’. The packaging may look cute and
unassuming, but the hearty Highland
Whisky inside is certainly not for the
fainthearted. In line with our Douglas
Laing ethos, we offer this bottling
without colouring or chill-filtration.

‘beastly’ side, exhibiting the complex
flavours you would expected from a
quality, aged Highland Malt with bite."
