American
Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
"William Larue Weller 128.2 Proof" named World Whisky Of The Year in Jim Murrays Whisky Bible 2019.
 Jim
Murray has once again named an American Bourbon
whiskey
as his World Whisky Of The Year in the
latest edition of his
Whisky Bible.
Jim has chosen the American Kentucky
Straight Bourbon Whiskey "William Larue
Weller 128.2 Proof" as his top whisky in
his
Whisky Bible 2019.
Now don't go rushing off and trying to
get hold of a bottle for yourself
because I doubt you will have any luck
as the William Larue Weller 128.2 Proof
was a whisky in the annual Buffalo
Trace Antique collection batch of
releases which are limited in numbers
and sell out very quickly so this
whisky is long gone unfortunately.
In second place, I am pleased to say is
a Scotch single malt whisky, which should be a little easier to get hold
of, but not much, the
Glen Grant 18 year old,
this is no stranger to Jim's top three
whiskies, with a third place position
last year and a second place the
previous year so it looks like the Glen
Grant 18 continues to impress Jim. I do
agree it is a fantastic whisky which I
have returned to a few times myself and
I still stick by my rating of 88/100 for
it
Jim's third best whisky of 2019
is another offering from America,
and another whisky from the annual
Buffalo Trace Antique collection, a Kentucky Straight Rye Whisky, "Thomas
Handy Sazerac Rye 127.2 Proof" and once
again this is another whisky which you
would be extremely lucky to get hold of
as it has long sold out in most whisky
shops.
The 2019 edition of the Whisky Bible
sees the addition of a new top World
Whisky accolade, the best "Single Cask
Whisky 2019" and that award goes to yet
another American Bourbon whiskey,
Blanton's
Gold Edition Single Barrel #40 dumped on
3rd June 2017 and matured in warehouse
H, Rick 79. Again this will be near
impossible to get a hold of but good
luck trying.
