team up with Michelin Star Chef Sat
Bains to select and release 3 single cask
whiskies, the Wire Works Whisky RSB
(Restaurant Sat Bains)Cuvee Collection.
 This
festive season White Peak distillery in
Derbyshire has announced an exciting
collaboration with the esteemed Michelin
Star Chef Sat Bains, renowned for his
acclaimed Restaurant Sat Bains (RSB)
located in Nottingham.
The partnership between Sat and his
talented team at RSB began with a visit
to the Distillery in February, delving
into White Peak's whisky-making
philosophy, tasting the Wire
Works whisky, and exchanging creative
concepts for a potential joint venture.
Resulting from this collaboration are
three exclusive co-branded releases,
uniting Wire Works and RSB. Each of
these meticulously crafted whiskies is
produced in very limited quantities,
showcasing a diverse range of flavours,
aromas, and textures. These English
single malt expressions proudly hail
from Derbyshire, a region deeply rooted
in the histories of Sat and White Peak
founders Max & Claire Vaughan.
The genesis of this 3-bottle collection
emerged from the original first-fill
ex-bourbon barrels filled by the
Distillery team in 2018, following
extensive cask sampling sessions with
the RSB team. Working closely with Sat,
two unique finishes were crafted atop
the ex-bourbon foundation spirit. The
resulting ensemble comprises three
highly exclusive releases, each limited
to a mere 90 bottles.
RSB Cuvee #1 embodies full maturation in
ex-bourbon casks, while RSB Cuvee #2
undergoes a finishing period in Oloroso
sherry quarter casks. Meanwhile, RSB
Cuvee #3 receives its distinctive
character from a finish in virgin
English oak. All expressions are bottled
at what should be a flavoursome 48% ABV,
encapsulating the essence of this
collaboration.
Sat said: "As a Chef, I have been
obsessed with flavour for as long as I
can remember, it is something I am
fortunate to create every day in my
working life of over 35 years. The idea
of creating a limited release whisky
with Wire Works was a no brainer.
"Meeting up with Max and his team at
Wire Works and being asked to go on this
incredible journey made so much sense,
both of us from Derby celebrating our
professions of flavour and taste.
Picking the aging barrels based on my
favourite cask finishes and tasting the
whisky at each stage has been an eye
opener into the level of detail and
expertise this collaboration has
harnessed."

is available exclusively through the RSB
