Whyte &
Mackay becomes APTRA Conference GOLD
partner to build on stunning growth of
its Single Malt portfolio.

Whyte & Mackay has solidified its
position as a gold-level partner for the
first-ever Asia Pacific Travel Retail
Association (APTRA) conference in Delhi
from March 19th to 21st. This move comes
after remarkable growth in the region,
emphasising the company's prominence in
the Single Malt category.
The partnership underscores the
strategic significance of Indian
consumers for Whyte & Mackay, who have
played a pivotal role in driving
significant growth in the ME & I
regions. This growth follows the
successful implementation of strategies
and investments aimed at capturing
Indian consumers with their esteemed
portfolio of Single Malts.

"As a new member of APTRA, we are
excited to be supporting their fantastic
initiative to focus on India and the
Indian consumer, given the incredible
potential these travellers represent for
our channel," says Clarisse Daniels,
Regional Director Global Travel Retail
Whyte & Mackay.
Daniels, who will take part in the
discussion panel focussing on spirits
premiumisation in India - maximizing the
opportunity, adds: “Single Malt Scotch
is the engine of the spirits category
and can help to drive spirits sales in
Global Travel Retail; the Conference
provides a great opportunity to share
our insights, learnings and ideas with
partners and colleagues.
"We look forward to continuing to drive
the dynamism the category has
experienced with our exceptional
portfolio of Single Malts. These are
currently outperforming the market for
growth in several regions – including
India - thanks to innovative and
exciting new products that appeal to
duty-free shoppers, translating into
increased footfall, penetration and
spend for our retail partners."
India Duty Free holds the top position
as the most valuable Malt market in
Global Travel Retail according to IWSR
2022, despite only 2% of the Indian
population travelling in 2022 as
reported by Paxsmart 2022. Anticipating
increased travel in the future and
considering the strong preference for
Single Malt among Indian consumers,
Whyte & Mackay identifies them and the
single malt category as pivotal growth
drivers for travel retail.
With an impressive lineup of pedigree
Single Malts including The Dalmore,
Jura, Fettercairn, and Tamnavulin, Whyte
& Mackay has emerged as the
fastest-growing Single Malt owner from
2019 to 2022, across both domestic and
Global Travel Retail channels according
to IWSR data.
You will find the current
Whyte & Mackay portfolio of Single Malts
including The Dalmore, Jura,
Fettercairn, and Tamnavulin available from specialist online whisky
