Do you fancy
getting your hands on a bottle of
Kilchoman 20 Year Old, not just any
bottle but Bottle 1 from Cask No. 1.
Kilchoman has launched a prize draw,
offering whisky lovers the
once-in-a-lifetime chance to win the
very first bottle of 20 Year Old
Kilchoman, drawn directly from Cask
No.1.

Earlier this spring, Kilchoman marked
its 20th anniversary with the launch of
a special 20th Anniversary Cask Series —
a collection of four limited releases,
each created from a vatting of five
carefully selected casks: two
14-year-olds, one 15-year-old, and one
18-year-old.
Now, as the distillery approaches a
historic moment — the 20th anniversary
of filling its very first cask on 14th
December — Kilchoman has unveiled an
extraordinary prize draw. At stake is a
once-in-a-lifetime reward: the very
first bottle of Kilchoman 20-Year-Old,
drawn directly from Cask No.1.
Commenting on the Cask No.1 prize draw
Anthony Wills, Kilchoman Founder and
Managing Director said, "As we
considered how to mark this milestone,
it became clear that selling a bottle
from cask No.1 would put it out of reach
for many people who have supported
Kilchoman from the beginning. Instead,
we decided to offer a bottle as part of
a prize draw. While only one person will
ultimately win, it gives everyone an
equal chance, not just collectors or
investors with the deep pockets, and
hopefully, the winner will open and
enjoy it as it was meant to be."
Kilchoman tells me that the bottle’s
packaging is a tribute to the artistry
of traditional whisky making. Every
material has been carefully chosen to
create a rich tactile and visual
experience for its owner. The lid, with
its layered textures, reflects the
distillery’s organic growth over the
years, while the box itself was crafted
using five distinct production
techniques, with paper sourced from the
family-owned G.F Smith.
The glass bottle, engraved on Islay,
showcases the distillery’s skyline, and
inside, the owner will discover a
handwritten note from Kilchoman founder
Anthony Wills.
This particular cask holds special
significance for Anthony Wills, who
personally filled it. Reflecting on the
journey since, he notes: "It has been a
journey, not always smooth, but
immensely fulfilling."
So what do you have to do to win the
bottle? Simply buy a ticket or there is
even an option for a FREE postal entry,
although when you do the math the cost
of a stamp is more than a single online
entry.
For an online entry, a block of 15
tickets will cost you just £9.
Reflecting Kilchoman’s strong ties to
their island home, a portion of proceeds
from online entries will be donated to
local Islay charities, supporting
essential community initiatives across
the Isle of Islay. Note that the prize
draw closes in December once the cask
has turned 20 Years Old. Good Luck!
