BenRiach 2009 Cask No. 6095 9 Year Old
Virgin Oak Cask Matured single cask
whisky.
 The
BenRiach 2009 Cask No. 6095 9 Year Old
which is one of
24 new limited edition
whiskies in Batch 16 of BenRiach's
popular Single Cask series of whiskies.
Distilled on 16th October 2009 and fully
matured for 9 years in a Virgin Oak Cask it was selected by
BenRiach
Master Blender, Rachel Barrie as part of
this latest batch of single cask
releases.
Non chill-filtered and natural colour
this Virgin Oak cask matured whisky was
bottled at 58.5% ABV, it is a limited
release of 322 bottles and will be
available from specialist whisky shops
as The Whisky Exchange,
The Whisky Shop
and
Master of Malt while stocks last.

Morrison's Tasting Notes:
Nose:
Sweet coconut and vanilla, honeycomb
infused with a gentle touch of orange, some
lovely timid oak spice and
a little grassiness lurking in the
background.
Taste:
A delicious barley sugar candy sweet
delivery is soon supported by vanilla,
caramel, some zesty orange and lemon and a lovely
touch of mouth coating oak spice.
Finish:
Long, more vanilla, the oaky sugars and
spices simply cling to the palate and
the fruit which is gentle and slightly
candied now also stays the distance.
Comment:
A young and simply delicious sweet malt
whisky candied expression from the
BenRiach and an outstanding example of
how good a combination of quality spirit
and a good virgin oak cask can turn out
if monitored and bottled at the right
time. This shows that the BenRiach
doesn't need some type of wine cask
influence to be this good and if you
enjoy a sweet malt you should love this.
