| I got through as far as the payments page, and bailed out after finding it was not secure! What a shambles. Got through by telephone, and the lady I spoke to deserves a medal. I think in view of the web site debacle, she is going to be there a while, so don't give up. |

I gave up earlier trying to place an order and left it until now. i can now access the Ardbeg website without any trouble. Like you said Ardbegger the payment page is insecure and this is simply not acceptable. So i havent placed my ordered, i would never considered entering my card details unless it was a secure connection. I shall contact Ardbeg and ask for their comment on this.

| That is outrageous how they cannot provide a secure connection for payment, i wonder how many people actually spotted that the payment page is insecure. |

I probably wouldnt spot it, i would just assume it is secure as it is a website/brand that i would trust. To be honest i wouldnt be looking for the "s" in https:// or the padlock symbol. Well done Ardbegger for pointing it out.

I have not had a response from Ardbeg about the insecure connection in their checkout. But i have just tried their checkout again and it is now partly secure, my internet explorer warns me that the page contains both secure and nonsecure items and if i want to display the not sececure items. When i select no i then get a secure page but the page displays no images, basically the template for the site doesnt load as it is not being served over a secure connection and you cannot continue with your order when the page doesnt fully load.
This is really basic website design mistakes they are making and worse still if people want to order they have to do it over an insecure connection. This can put peoples personal information and bank details at risk. I shall let you know if Ardbeg get back to me.

Hi William
I had noticed this, i am surprised they do not stop online orders until they sort this. I would have thought they could sort it pretty quickly. Also surprising how they havent gotten back to you to acknowledge this.
The Rollercoaster is still available on there site so maybe many others have noticed the nonsecure payment page and didnt order as i thought it would have been well gone by now considering Ardbegs claim that 25000 tried to access the website at 9am yesterday. |

When i go to the checkout i get the message:
| Quote: | | This page contains both secure and non secure items. Do you want to display the non secure items. |
Needless to say i did not order as when i select no to display the non secure items the whole thing fails. |

I got a reply from Ardbeg about 2.00pm today saying the security problem was sorted but I emailed them back to tell them there is still a problem as internet explorer gives you a popup warning saying
"This page contains both secure and non secure items. Do you want to display the non secure items?"
When you answer no to this question (as you should) the checkout process fails.
Still havent heard back from them and the site is still the same at almost 5.00pm |

I saw this post here earlier about the security issue in the Ardbeg checkout. I just got the following email from Ardbeg
| Quote: | We're back on track...
We would like to unreservedly apologise for the momentous bottleneck at ardbeg.com/rollercoaster yesterday, as we unleashed this thrilling Anniversary dram on the world.
Having cranked up the suspense about Rollercoaster, the buzz had gathered pace. And at 9am on 15th February, an unprecedented 25,000 Committee Members - that's half of you - simultaneously attempted to squeeze through the doors of the website.
But after a temporary delay, the site is up and running again. It may seem to be taking a while, or not work the first time you try, but orders for Rollercoaster are now being processed as quickly as possible. So please, if you do want a bottle, persevere! And thank you for your patience.
| Obviously they are not fully on track as my computer is still giving me the security warning when i try to use the checkout.
What are you doing Ardbeg |

Not good, i would never enter my card details when my pc tells me it is not secure and i couldnt believe that others would. This is probably why there is still Rollercoaster available i think. |
