GlenAllachie 11 Year Old Grattamacco
Wine Cask Finish.
 The
GlenAllachie 11 Year Old Grattamacco
Wine Cask Finish is one of three
inaugural limited edition whiskies in
the new GlenAllachie Wine Cask series.
The creative work of The GlenAllachie
Master Distiller Billy Walker, it was
inititially matured in American Oak
ex-bourbon barrels, the whisky was then
finished for almost another two years in
certified Organic Super Tuscan barriques
made of French oak from the Grattamacco
winery in the Bolgheri area of Tuscany,
Italy.
The GlenAllachie 11 Year Old Grattamacco
Wine Cask Finish is bottled at 48% ABV,
non chill filtered and naturally
coloured and has a RRP of £58.99.

Morrison's Tasting Notes:
Nose:
Lovely enticingly sweet sugars, honey
and almond combine to gives the toffee'd
nose a marzipan edge, this is interlaced
with orange, nectarine and a little ripe
raisins.
Taste:
As delicious as the nose hinted it would
be, a smooth sugar sweet delivery with
vanilla toffee, honey, nectarine, orange
and now a touch of apricot adding to the
fruitiness
Finish:
The sugars carry the toffee, honeyed
fruity mix long into the finish. A
little lovely late oak spice.
Comment:
This naturally coloured dram with a
slight pinkish/rose red wine colour look
to it, ignore the picture, is simply a
delicious moreish Glenallachie, with the
sugars giving the fruit a wee bit of a
candied edge after a couple of
mouthfuls.
