unpeated Glenglassaugh Rare Cask Release
2009 Cask No 1346.
 Glenglassaugh
Rare Cask Release 2009 Cask No 1346 is
one of two UK exclusive releases in the
Glenglassaugh Coastal Casks Collection.
Distilled on the 22nd December 2009,
this unpeated spirit was matured for 10
years in a Bourbon Cask No. 1346 which
produced just 250 bottles. Bottled in
2020 at 54.7% ABV.
The Glenglassaugh Cask No 1346 has a
RRP of £89 and will be available
exclusively from the Glenglassaugh
Distillery but if you wont be passing
the distillery anytime soon the other UK
exclusive release in this collection
will be available from
specialist online whisky retailers such
as

Morrison's Tasting Notes:
Nose:
Creamy vanilla, fresh pear and a touch
orange, lemon and pineapple with a
mildly candied edge, a little sweet
coconut lurking in the background.
Taste:
Pineapple leads with some delicious
Demerara sugars, a fleeting appearance
from the coconut on the nose, vanilla,
zesty orange, a little lemon & lime
pushes back the sugars. A touch of
ginger and cinnamon spice things up a
little.
Finish:
Long. the vanilla bows out quickly
followed by the fruit to leave some
lovely oak spices clinging to the palate
with a salted milk chocolate edge.
Comment:
A quality young bourbon cask matured
dram the quality of which is no doubt
boosted by the bottling strength, a
great example unadulterated by any wine
casks of what they produce now at
Glenglassaugh and a indication of good
things to come as their maturing stock
laid down since the distillery started
producing again back in 2008 comes of
age.
